Asian Bosses are a Nightmare

An independent research conducted by JobsiteAhead.co.uk aims to bring public attention on Asian bosses in UK. The problem is even bigger if the employee is also of an Asian origin.
Asian bosses tend to have a double standard for their white staff in comparison to Asian and Black staff. This research is based on personal experiences of the author as well as other people who have been in similar situations. Asian bosses tend to favor the white staff and mistreat their Asian and Black counterparts because of their skin colour.
This research blames Asian bosses on having an inferiority complex. They will not ever dare to say any thing to white staff. For example, if a white staff walks into the office late or even leaves early it would not be a problem but if an Asian or Black staff does the same then action is taken immediately. This may even include shouting in front of the entire office as though one were at school. Asian bosses also expect Asian and Black staff to work twice harder and spend longer hours in order to prove themselves but a promotion for the white staff is fast tracked so long as the white staffs are willing to have lunch with them especially females.
This situation is even worse in the medical profession where Asian doctor and Asian nursing staff give more importance and priority to white patients compare to Asian and Black patients. When a white patient arrives in the surgery then the doctor will personally attend and greet them. He will spend reasonable time to do all the checks in a prescribed manner showing off his customer service skills. On the other hand, when Black and Asian patients walk into a GP's surgery then they are treated like second class citizens by Asian doctors or nurses.
Another example of double standards is in an interview situation. If the interviewer is Asian, chances of securing employment is very slim for an Asian employee in comparison to a white employer. Asian bosses also fear from their white bosses in selecting an Asian employee. They will be more worried as to what their white boss will think of them.
Finally, the classic example would have to be Asians working in customer service in United Kingdom. Asians show off their customer service skills when serving a white customer. They will behave politely with a huge smile on their face; they will also use their sense of humor when dealing with the white customers treating white customers with the uppermost superiority. With Asians and Black customers their attitude is altogether different. There will be a change in their tone, their smiley face will become serious and their attitude completely arrogant. They will utilize this moment as showing off their authoritative powers on people of the same race and colour.
In addition, white people do not laugh at non English people's poor or broken English or their accent when it comes down to communicating with them but Asians will be the first to laugh at other people's poor English or their accent. They will not even spare their own parents. Asian bosses will only treat Asian staff nicely if they are related to them or if they have some kind of social pressure on them.
If the government is serious about this issue then they need to rethink the entire jobcentre process again. The jobcentres require restructuring and reengineering of the entire process in order to compete with professional recruitment agencies in the United Kingdom.
During this search 100 Asian jobseekers have been contacted and 80% of them prefer reporting to a white boss or a Black boss compared to an Asian boss. This shows the seriousness about this issue. Asian bosses take Asian staff for granted and try to bully them instead to making good relations with them and utilizing talent when they come across it.
JobsiteAhead requests the government to take the necessary steps to safeguard working class Asians and Blacks who are an integral part of British society.

I have been there, worked for countless hi profile companies. Worked in factories in many countries, and traveled extensively. Many times short term contract, project related, build a factory, turn some around.
I have watched many hi tech companies come and go, remember the peak of jobs around Silicon Valley California, where at some points there were so many startup companies I had a choice of 10 jobs at once. I am going to discuss some steps for career training for your future, my experiences, and what worked best for me, and hopefully ideas for your future Career Education.
Way back in the beginning, I recall working with many companies in the mid west, and east coast, where the model of a 20 to 30 year job meant security. California was a wild and unstable place for job security, typical cycles were from 2 to 3 years at one job, but you could make very good money, bonus plans, stock options, and some really took off, so who cared if a short term job.
My longest job at a billion dollar corporation was for a 5 year stretch, and although in some crazy way I enjoyed that high stress, blood pressure peaked, and yelling matches between departments. At one point they just decided to cut out a thousand jobs, and, well I was in the group. See, I did my best, they dont always have a heart.
This experience changed my life. I realized if this event had not happened, I would probably had a heart failure, so maybe this was a wake up call. So the time away from the Career Job, really gave me time to think, clear my head, and realize what else can I do. Well I did have ideas.
A career change is very different these days. I was a bit tired of the grind, and believe me, always put out and worked my best. Now I live in a foreign country, lower cost of living. That completely changed my life.
If you are Career oriented, and have a good high paying job, that is great, just take care of the health first, that is most important. These are changing times though, and its important to think about a shift in your future to something you really enjoy doing, that hidden passion.
I shifted Careers, and found I do much better than prior jobs, but working on my own projects with no stress factors.I just woke up one day and said enough! This is how I began the process of a career change. I first took a vacation for over two weeks, and hit the beaches. I then went off and built a house, my very first.
Step 1 : If you are thinking along these lines, your job may come to an end soon, what to do, well start writing down ideas, a long list of any enjoyable thing you can think of. Go over this list, make changes, ad to it, but at the end of one week, target 3 things you feel, and I mean feel, instinctively are worth pursuing.
Yes, once you feel that passion to succeed, and win something for yourself, it drives the machine inside you, and energy you typically gave to factory jobs, but never had your heart into it, at least 100 percent. This is called opportunity, just go do it.
Step 2: I simply rolled out a plan, set a target objective on those 3 things I really enjoy, but never had time for, and eventually found they actually generated income over time. I think its called a paradigm shift in life. I know this sounds simple, but I cannot decide for you, start thinking, and writing will drive and motivate you.
Step 3. Stick to your plan, now you have three things rolling along, some do better than others, but you can make adjustments along the way, as many times ideas just do not make sense, or money, when initially started. Its ok, and this is how a Career Change works, brain storming ideas.
OK, there are some simple steps to start your machine going. See, if you dont have an open mind, you wont even begin thinking about your future.
So here is more to think about, did my three ideas work ? Well ,only 2 of 3 worked out, but then I have added and diversified, and now have 12 projects all working fine, but no stress. I wanted something where I could live anywhere, and here I am in a foreign country, working on my computer, or from any cyber cafe near the beach.
I do many things, writing articles building websites, and publishing, which is very easy for me with all my prior jobs, experiences, travel. I just write for fun, it is actually relaxing, and being original, the search engines, and directories just gobble them up. Did you know, you can become a professional writer , get paid, and live anyplace you want ? There is an idea, and a market with huge demand, go learn how to write. I built my own factory to FDA standards , small, simple, and for my neighbors food products. I really enjoyed this, actually more like a teachers job, sharing my experience in a hole different environment. It is still operating today, and very cost efficient. I teach the locals about the principles of manufacturing from my own experience and how they can apply to simple home businesses.
I think you get some ideas here, I could just keep going, as many doors of opportunities just kept opening. But one of the best things to look at in my opinion is the internet, it is growing, has a life of its own, and a demand for information, and endless opportunities.
Does that get the gears turning, it should. Need help and more motivation, look up , site sell , build it, and that is a starting point for a Career change .

Things can go really against you despite your thorough preparation for a just a couple of 'types' of interview questions. However, it is possible to ignore or forget the other types of possible interview questions. This brings us to different 'types' of interview questions, along with traditional questions or questions pertaining to your core skills.
Types Of Interview Questions
It is crucial for you to be able to anticipate different types of questions that may come up in an interview. Let's categorize them into three types:
1. 'Out of the box' questions and hardcore questions are the traditionally asked ones that cannot be readily anticipated. They may or may not be related to the job at hand, and are designed to see how well you can 'think on your feet'.
2. Questions That Test Behavior And Problem Solving Abilities. These aim to find how you have conducted yourself in difficult situations and how will you do if the situation were to repeat itself. Interviewers always want to test you for unexpected and accidental circumstances.
3. Lastly, There Are Illegal Questions which are sometimes cleverly framed. These are aimed to find out your nationality, religious or ethnic background, marital status, etc. Illegal questions are not always intentional, but sometimes they are. The world isn't fair, and you may as well know this going in.

Let's look at some samples from two categories:
Traditional Questions/Behavioral Questions
1. Tell us about yourself. In my humble opinion, the most overused and overworked, and unfortunately the most likely first question in any interview. This question can be manifested in any form. As there is no right or wrong answer to this, this is an open-ended question, most often used by inexperienced interviewers. However, if this question does come up (and you should assume that it will), then stick to answering strictly in business terms; NEVER volunteer personal information.
2. Why do you want to join us? This is another question belonging to the same category as the earlier one but usually follows it. As such, it is routinely predictable and you should have your answer ready. You need to list the benefits of your joining them from both points of view (the employer's first, then yours).
3. How would you describe yourself? Adopt a realistic approach towards this question and use adjectives like 'honest', 'hard working', etc., instead of the overused/ambiguous answers like 'courageous' or 'results-oriented'.
4. 'Describe a situation which demanded working overtime' (or any variations on this question). If you have been in the corporate world for any length of time, you should have encountered this scenario. This question is devised only to see how you will possibly conduct yourself, as the new employer is probably anticipating similar situations happening should you be hired.
5. 'Tell me about a decision that you made which was a bad one'. This may well be a hypothetical question. But if you had had made a bad decision, a 'positive you' will explain this in a structured mixture of truth, admission, failure analysis and so on. In other words, logically turn a potential negative answer into a positive one - avoid making yourself look incompetent at all costs.
Let's take a look at some possible illegal questions. Employers know they aren't supposed to ask them, but many do anyway (and some in different variations, so as not to be overtly illegal):

6. Does your religion preclude you from working weekends? (overtly illegal question)
7. Are you planning to have kids? (designed to reveal your family status, or perhaps your sexual orientation)
8. When/Where were you born? (A clever way of finding out your age or ethnicity)
9. Your last name sounds unusual; what's your origin? (designed to reveal your ethnic background)
As a job seeker, you will invariable come across all types of interview questions. There are as many different types of questions as there are interviewers. It pays to be aware of the many types of questions that you will encounter - doing so will ensure that you handle such questions with confidence.

In an era where more people trust infomercials than company leaders, trust-enhancing communication skills, at any level, stand out. Below you'll find a few I learned in my twenty years in management. Some I learned the hard way, while others took me nearly a career to recognize. So, in the interest of saving you learning-years, I've put them into six tips:
First: think never-ending. Effective communication is a continuous process. It's not a faucet with an on/off handle, but an open pipe with a filter. You're a conduit in a never ending stream of information. But that doesn't mean you should pass on everything you hear. There's a balance between protecting confidential or proprietary interests and sharing needed knowledge. When you have information that others need to effectively, creatively and competently do their best work, as a conduit, your role is to share it.
Second: share what you know, when you know it. Don't wait to package information. Effective communication is timely. Keep bosses, staff and peers in the loop on issues that pertain to their responsibilities. That includes the good news and the not so good. In less than a minute, a phone call, email, voice mail or text message can alert people to direction changes, emerging problems, new perspectives or meeting results. People can filter what they don't need, but not knowing critical information is a trust-buster.
Third: expect and give honest answers. Communication that builds trust is a dialogue, with a foundation built from integrity, forthrightness and honesty. It's more trust-enhancing to honestly tell a staff member or co-worker, "I can't share that information right now" than to tell a half-truth or to lie. Trust comes from being authentic, which requires a genuine communication approach.
Fourth: link the whys. Most people do a good job of communicating the what, i.e. the basic information and direction. But few communicate the why behind the what. We're told we need to do something, but the understanding of how that fits into the bigger vision is left out. Tasks without purpose are passionless. Work without reason leaves people guessing. Deadlines without the thinking behind them are empty. If you want to build trust, spend time communicating the why behind the what.
Fifth: enable others. People with good information make better decisions. People with no information make ill-informed decisions. If you're winning at working, you're playing on the bigger best-life team. Your role, then, is not just to offer your best-self to the world, but enable others to do the same. You see, when we're all winning, we all win. Effective communication is a strategy that enables. And helping others, helps you.
Sixth: own your message. It's difficult to deliver messages of serious critique, shortcomings, employment termination, unpopular policy or organizational change. It's difficult to own up to your mistakes. But how you handle the difficult communications is, itself, a message. Don't delegate the delivery. And a caution about word choice. Words matter. When you're accountable for your words, messages and pass-along communication, and when you don't hide behind email or voice mail but handle the difficult messages face to face, your actions convey the bigger message of respect, caring and compassion. While people may like not the message, they can respect the messenger.
People who are winning at working understand the trust-enhancing power of effective communication. They use active communication practices as a cornerstone for enhancing relationships, building trust, and impacting results.

Career testing has become a very popular way of "discovering ourselves" and our abilities. However, many people tend to accept their test results as the absolute gospel truth about themselves and their occupations.
This in a way can be a very dangerous assumption and especially for individuals who are desperately seeking some direction in life.
My advice to this is that, even though it may be what you want to hear, you need to be somewhat cautious of your test results.
The truth is, that no matter how glorified and 99.99 percent certified, these tests can be somewhat abstract and generalized. It doesn't matter how good a test is or how good the developer says it is, career tests, career quizzes, and personality tests are not always the absolute gospel truth.
So here are a few guidelines to keep in mind when taking a career or personality test.
1) No test is 100% accurate. Independent studies have proven that even the most glorified tests can be as much as 25 percent inaccurate.
2) Test results can vary. Yes, even the results from the same test taken by the same person at different times can change. Your mood and frame of mind can influence your test results from day to day and even just one different answer can mean completely different results. It's so important to give questions a lot of thought and be totally honest with your answers.
3) Take more than one test. Since no test is completely accurate and results can vary, it is so important to take more than one test. In this way you can compare results to get an accurate assessment of matching results. You'll be able to eliminate mistakes by averaging matching results.
4) Not the end result. Always remember that career testing is only the beginning of your career planning process. It's not the end result. You simply now have something to work with.
5) Be true to yourself. Give your results some serious thought. Do some deep soul searching and trust your intuition. You'll know if the results are totally wrong for you. If you're reading one thing and it doesn't feel right, don't go running off in the wrong direction just because the test results "said so". If you still don't get it, you may need to seek additional advice from a career coach or career counselor. There's nothing wrong with asking for help. And I honestly recommend that you do so.

Some have very low payout and don't require you to pay for any shipping or anything like that. If you are doubtful of the company, try one or two of these first and then if you get credited, it is probably safe to invest in shipping to get the higher earnings. Keep in mind that you must reach a limit before you can cash out your earnings. The limit varies from company to company.
It is even more crucial that you read carefully before signing up for a paid survey company. Many of them will enter you in sweepstakes as a thank you, or give you coupons or points instead of cash. If you want to make money, you will need to manage things carefully. But it can be done.
In general, if you are interested in making money online with surveys, I would recommend starting with one company at a time, and give it 2-3 days to see if you like it before you add another. Otherwise you will get overwhelmed with emails. Also, you should consider opening another email account to deal with this--otherwise it could overrun your current email and make messages from family and friends hard to find.

The basic idea behind Google cash programs is that you find a product or service you want to promote that pays you when you refer a buyer. To make this productive, you will need to find a number of them. Then you open a Google Adwords account and write ads for the products. This can be a very lucrative business, with very little time invested, once you learn how Google Adwords works and are good at writing ads. Keep in mind that you will have to pay Google for the ads, but you only pay when people click on them, and if you have good ads, you are almost guaranteed that some of the people that click on the ads will sign up. Once you have an ad that earns money, you will be able to earn money on that ad for a long time without ever doing anything else.
It is possible to do this by advertising for free, but it is much harder and slower than Google Adwords. Free ads are less likely to be seen.
Network and Marketing Programs
Network and marketing programs are some of the most lucrative options out there--but you have to be careful. You should only get involved in them if you are serious, because they require that you invest money, much more than any Google cash program, and your results will vary depending on a variety of factors, such as your persistence, time and money invested, where it is invested, etc.
If you decide that this option is something you want to explore, you should find a company that lets you join for free. Of course, you won't earn any money if you never invest, but if you have to pay money before you understand the program, it probably is a scam. So do your homework. In general, if you are just starting, you should start with one or two companies that have an affiliate program which requires a low investment (say, $10 a month), and then promote them to get members signed up under you. When you start making on those companies, then instead of taking that money as profit, you should invest it into promoting another company--such as an MLM company that you always liked (Amway, Melaluca, and Mannatech, for example) or some other program that you enjoy. This is called Funded Sponsoring. You fund your own proposals.
There are different ways to advertise; some are free and some you pay for. Of course, the paid ones are more likely to get results, so weigh your options. Don't spend money you don't have, but then again, don't be too stingy or you'll never get anywhere.
